    • 01. What is Governance?

      Governance is a decentralized program which allows Algo holders to vote on the future of Algorand. Committing Algos to governance for a three-month period allows you to vote on measures proposed by the Foundation and earn rewards for doing so. Governance replaces the former participation system where rewards were automatically added to your Algo wallet.

    • 02. Why should I participate?

      As an Algo holder, your voice is important. Voting on the future of the protocol ensures the Algorand decision making process stays decentralized and that your voice is heard. Plus, you can earn rewards up to 10,000 ALGO for active participation!

    • 03. How does it work?

      Governance works in cycles. Each cycle lasts three months and contains a sign up phase (May 27 - June 13, 2025), a voting phase (June 5, 2025), and a rewards phase (until June 20, 2025). Governors who register and stake Algos during the sign up phase can vote on measures and receive rewards. You must vote on all measures and maintain your committed balance to be eligible for rewards.
